Yes, it was first mentioned in VMware Fusion 5 doesn't see a bootcamp partition on a new Macbook Air 2013 (Haswell) and one VMware employee who replied in the thread hopefully has brought this to the developers attention.

I haven't seen where anyone has posted in this forum that they have it working in this use case scenario.
3. If this is a known problem. When is it expected that this problem will be resolved?
VMware Policy does not allow the employees to discuss things like unannounced features, time lines, etc. so don't expect an exact answer to questions such as this.
