Hi,
I'm in the same boat, I've been lucky to have attended the VMware Design course 2 weeks ago and hope to sit the exam on Tuesday. I've NO idea what they're going to ask me or how which makes it very hard to study for. The blueprint gives an idea but not the structure / type of question. The course did provide a sample company and a set of questions to go through and that has helped a bit but may not represent the actual exam. My intention is to "give it a go" and not worry if I don't pass the first time. I'm following this:
http://thesaffageek.co.uk/2013/02/12/vcap5-dcd-design-practice/ as the exam gives questions based on a particular company and I need practice thinking in that vein.
My hope is I'll see what questions come up on Tuesday and more importantly how they are laid out to go back a few weeks later and nail it. Some exams are like that! I just hope my boss pays for the second attempt, who knows I may scrape a pass on my first go?!
You've listed all the best material out there, I would say you can either study forever or just plunge in and see how you do. You find out straight away and from your score get an idea how close / far away your knowlege is and you will only improve from there. Print out Saffa's scenario and design and justify the Compute, Storage and Network design around it for yourself and get right down into the detail. I'm now going to practice crossing my legs for 4 hours...!!
Best of Luck
Mike
