I had already looked at that web link and confess to being a bit confused. For example, here is that web page's comment about Player:
"Any VMware product in the chart above, with the exception of VMware Player, is able to upgrade the version of a virtual machine's hardware to the highest version that it supports."
I appreciate that Player does not have any hardware modification ability. All I wanted to know was whether versions of Player later than my v2.5.5 version can be used to deploy the older VMs. So, for example, can the latest v5.0.2 of VMware Player run my VMs created with my "virtual hardware version" of 6 (as per Workstation v6.6.5)?
Forgive me if I seem to be missing the boat here.
