It's actually not a good idea to modify vmnet adapters on the host. The virtual NAT network (vmnet8) you see on your host is only an additional adapter but does not change the way NAT works. I'd recommend you restore the defaults for the virtual network using the Virtual Network Editor (rundll32.exe vmnetui.dll VMNetUI_ShowStandalone), then set the VM to bridged networking and configure IP settings for the physical network on the VM.
