Alright, I am confused. vmware-vmx didn't even come up in a 'locate', so I fi gured it didn't exist. It's highlighted red when I ls -l that folder... not sure what that means.
I said "In a Terminal use the following command..." so why were you trying to locate it? Just bring up a Terminal, copy and paste... etc! 
It's highlighted in red because it's a binary executable.
Either way, that command did in fact work after all, thanks a ton. I'm amazed that in all of my searching online, I couldn't find something so simple.
You can also use the following command to bring up the Enter Licence Key dialog box.
sudo usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware-enter-serial
