Hello All,
I ran in to a problem yesterday. One of my ESXi 5.1 hosts hung up. I had to hard boot it. As a result all the VMs on it were powered off which included my vCenter 5.1 server. AFter I brought everything back on line, I am unable to start the vCenter server service. It is stuck on Starting.
Below is my configuration:
Database for vCenter and SSO: MS SQL (Separate VM).
SSO Server: Separate VM.
vCenter Server: Separate VM.
It has been working fine for over a year and this is the first time vCenter server service is not starting.
I thought it might be related to the database. So i rebooted all the servers: DB, SSO and vCenter in the same sequence but no success.
When I go to ODBC connection on vCenter server and try to reconfigure it to connect to DB, it gives error:
Connection Failed.
SQL State: '08001'
SQL Server Error: 53
Could not open connection to SQL server (53)
Connection Failed.
I have attached the screenshot of the error.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
AG
