Changing length of custom string

Hi.

I need to change the length o a custom_string field in the call logging screen.

Default value was varchar(30)

I also verified the change by editing a call record column value to a string > 30 characters and did a query to check it had saved the longer value.

So far so good.

Next I opened the edited call in VSM and the moment I did this (even before saving), the value in SQL is truncated to 30 characters.

It seems as if the GUI has some built in truncation.  Checking the field in screen designer it doesn't have a mask (I also tested edit mask with more than 30 alaphanums (*)) and the field size is x-large.
Any suggestions?

 

PS, I haven't restarted the server as there are current users of another VSM DB on the same machine.
