Each VMFS volume/data store is seen by all hosts in both clusters. As a result each host establishes a connection to the volume, each host has two paths, so that is a minimum of 2 connections per host, that is before MEM. If I were to convert each of those in-guest iscsi volumes to vmdk's, whether individual VMFS volumes or multiple vmdk's per vmfs data store, the connection count will increase substantially. This is what I am trying to determine a workaround for.
