Which way is better to connect to ESXI?

Now there is a ESXI server, a workstartion9 and vsphere client.

1. I can use Vsphere to connect Vsphere directly.

2. I am able to use workstation9 to connect to ESXI. And at the same time I can use the local machine with workstation

Could you someone tell me which way is better? To use workstation9 is quite easy way to start the local VMs and ESXI VMs. But one problem I have met is that no responding occurs when I start several VMs at the same time.  To use Vsphere is no such issue(No responding), but we cannot use  local machine at the same time.
